Welcome to my web site!
I directed botanical gardens in Tucson and San Diego and spent many years as a nonprofit staff member, board member and consultant. I now delight in using the right side of my brain to write fiction and poetry. DEATH IN A DESERT GARDEN is my first novel. BONES IN THE BACK FORTY, out in January 2023, is the second in the Bea Rivers series. I’ve published several poems and prose pieces, and I’ve provided links to these.
I divide my time between the small mountain town of Silver City, NM, and Tucson, Arizona, hiking and enjoying the flora and fauna of both habitats. I live with my husband, Phil Hastings, and a dog, and I spend as much time as possible with my children and grandchildren
